Thought this guy looked pretty cool.

interupt
Was walking down kloof street and spotted these two chatting, whatever it was it must have been an amusing conversation, either way I decided to stop, turn around and take a shot.
I'm happy with the exposure, I think I'm getting the hang of not using a light meter.

55mm 1.8 lens
Fuji Pro II 100 ASA
Honda Nighthawk parked in a drive way.
It looks like a pretty clean and cable bike.
I've been looking at getting a CB750 for myself, and I wonder if this uses the same engine.

flowers
Arrived at a friends party and I thought I'd play a bit with the flowers and the mirror.
Using the film I was using wasn't the best idea.
dads things
This collection of things I suppose gives you an glimps into my dad's personality.
I was playing around with a flash for the first time.
Shot on expired B&W film.
creepy hut
On a walk in the mountains with my friends, we stumbled apon this shead just off the path.
Looked pretty creepy to me.
Shot on expired B&W film.
busdriver
Off to work one morning I asked the driver if I could take his picture.
I think I did a fair job getting this picture to come out, it was pretty under exposed.
Looking at the picture now I should've done something clever with that perspex hole, like taken the picture at such an angle that his eye is looking though that hole.

girl at the arcade
Girl at a vintage clothing store in the Antique Arcade. After taking a picture of the Pie man, I felt compelled to keep things on a roll, so I stepped out of my shell once again and asked if I could take her picture.
I hope this does some justice to her style.
downsouthpies
On the way into town With Phil, we had some pies, and I suppose you could say this is the one of the first gentlemen I've ever asked to take a photo of.
Didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to.
Either way, check his place out on Long Street. Really enjoyable pies and you can order a beer to go along with that.
Now that's something you can't do in a petrol station!
loopst mosque
I like how this image came out.
I've had a theory for a while that pictures are often improved upon if there is movement, a person or animal in frame.
Or at least thats mostly what attracts me to some images.
This was taken at the mosque at the top of Loop Street. On this particular day, I was trying actively looking to improve the way I expose things.
Difficult since I didn't have a working light meter and had to use my judgment.
I'm hoping to get much better, to the point where a light meter will only confirm what I want to do.
labour phil
My Friend Phil.
I suppose this is an attempted portrait, I liked how the shadow cut things in half. I think it could be a useful trick in the future.
This was taken after a leisurely stroll down long street, we acquired pies, had a look at some watches, bought expired film and talked a lot of crap before going to Hudson's for milkshakes.
Used a 21mm lens.

chili sauce
Playing around with a camera in a Woolworths. There's quite a lot of opportunity for repetition there.
Dennis2
A wonderful example at how much I need to learn about exposing things correctly.
I still like the shot though.
As soon as I retrieve my notebook, bla bla bla, details will follow. I think I was shooting with my trusty 21mm Wide Angle lens.
Dennis
I think his name was Dennis...or Dino, that I'm not to sure of. Anyway I was walking down town with a friend of mine to see about getting some film, and I spotted him taking street portraits. I asked if I could take his picture, he didn't mind, and in return I stood in front of his screen.
If you by any chance know who he is, I'd like to actually have a look at the pictures he took that day.

victory
I think these guys ended up having the fastest time on the day.
Taken at the Gun Push, a army event where the soldiers had to compete, pushing an anti-aircraft gun 7.5km. The fastest team wins.
Standingby
Had a quick look at the bike the guys where trying to get started.
A small fuel pipe had popped off, and as a result the bike would no longer start.
Passed by on my way back and the bike was still parked there, while the people had gone home.

intheway
Managed to stay out of trouble with this one, although with the wide angle lens I got quite a shock when I realized they where almost on top of me.
busdriver
Taken on the myciti bus system after a trip to the waterfront with a friend. We had spotted the driver watching a live rugby game from his cell phone, and I just had to get the shot.
This was I think the best of those attempts.
